HYPER GROOVE AX

Originally released in 2014 and built in a proprietary C++ engine, HYPER GROOVE was a student project and winner of Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Provost Award for the Interactive Media and Game Development program that year.

Rebuilt from the ground up with a new aesthetic and new soundtrack, while maintaining the core concepts of the original and making use of the Playdate's unique form factor, HYPER GROOVE AX challenges players to beat match across two note highways and aim for the highest score possible.

Features:

  • Twin track game play - beat match with the d-pad and face buttons while switching between two note highways using the Playdate's crank
  • Nine original songs, ranging from electronica to metal (with more planned post launch!)
  • Localized in both English and Japanese
